Six PPG nursing students booked for ransacking their college property

Police have booked six students of a private nursing college on Saturday for ransacking the campus while protesting against the college authorities of alleged negligent handling of a student who met with an accident and died.

They have been booked under Tamil Nadu Public Property (Prevention of Damage and Loss) Act and rioting. However, they have not been arrested by the police.

According to police, D Lenoy, 19, a second year student of PPG College of Nursing and Physiotheraphy in Saravanampatti was injured in a hit and run accident on Thursday. The students accused the authorities of handling the issue in a negligent manner resulting in the death of the student. The management however denied the charges .

According to the complaint, the worth of the damaged properties was Rs 15 to 20 lakh. Based on the complaint, police booked Srihari, Stephen, Alaguraj, Raja, Ajin and Mathuavaraj.
