Two month old calf-elephant found dead in Boluvampatti Forest Range.


A two-month old elephant calf was found dead in Narasipuram forest area, which comes under Boluvampatti forest range.



Since major part of the carcass was eaten by the wild animals the sex of the elephant calf could not be ascertained said Forest officials who recovered the carcass.

"The reason for cub elephant’s death could not be ascertained. The animal was found deep inside the forest near Kerala border.

Forest vets would conduct the autopsy today and exact reason for the death of the calf could be fixed” Said S.Ramasubramaniam District Forest Officer.
