A fire broke out today morning at the first floor of Gem Hospital in Coimbatore. The fire broke out in the operation theatre of the hospital located in the first floor. The incident occurred due to short circuit in the UPS wire.
The hospital staff noticed thick smoke emanating from the theatre and immediately shifted the inpatients to the nearby hospitals and alerted the Fire and Rescue Services personnel. No casualties were reported.
Fire fighters rushed to the spot and doused the fire.
