The 59th fruit show was inaugurated at Sims Park at Coonoor by District collector Shankar to day.
A Jallikattu bull tamer with the bull was the most eye-catching of the exhibits. Using 2000 kg fruits the exhibit was done with Orange, sweet lime, and grapes in 6 feet by 20 feet. Other exhibits included a sheep’s replica made by Cuddalore Horticulture department.
The stalls pitched by Horticulture departments of 10 districts including Coimbatore, Madurai, Dindigul and Theni attracted visitors.
A welcoming arch made up of fruits including plums, mangoes, lemon, jack adorned the entrance to the Sims Park.
