Jamat-e-Islami Hind condemns Centre's notification against slaughter of cattle.

Condemning the new notification banning the sale of cattle for slaughter at animal fairs and markets as against the fundamental rights which are enshrined in Indian constitution the Jamat-e-Islamai Hind said that by enacting the law, the central government has interfered in the food habit of millions which should be deemed as against human rights said A.Shabbir Ahamed, Tamilnadu President of Jamat-e-Islami Hind, an Islamic Welfare Organization.

Alleging that the ruling BJP has implementing its religious agenda, he said even while the Supreme court dismissed the petition seeking ban of slaughter, the Centre has enacted the notification in such urgency, which shows that the central Government is under the influence of fundamentalist Hindutva forces.

The notification also amounts to interfering in the federal rights of the state as cattle is categorized under state subject, Shabbier Ahmed said.

“Killing innocent people in the name of eating or storing beef would only continue with this draconian law. People of all religious sects should fight against this biased law , and the government should withdraw this ant people law” Shabbir Ahmed further said in a statement issued here.
