Tamilnadu Government has sanctioned Rs.250 crores for the implementation of Athikadavu-Avinashi scheme for the fiscal 2017-18 and the scheme would be implemented for the benefit of the people of the Avinashi region said P. Dhanapal, Speaker of Tamilnadu Legislative Assembly.

Participating in a function at Kammalthottipalayam in Annur taluk, the speaker distributed welfare measures to the tune of 12 lakhs to 122 beneficiaries and inaugurated two Anganwadi centers constructed at the cost of Rs.7 lakhs each.

Addressing the audience he said that the Government headed by Edapadi Palanismay has sanctioned Rs.220 crores to benefit of their town panchayats including Avinashi and Annur.
