Six tourists died on the spot and 20 others were injured, when the van in which they were travelling skidded off the road and fell into a 50 feet gorge near Kunjapallam in Kothagiri.
The tourists were returning to Vellore in a van after visiting Ooty and nearby places when the mishap occurred.
"Some of the seriously injured were admitted to Coimbatore and Kotagiri hospitals" Police said.
