Allegations of smuggling of Government subsidised cement not true - SP Velumani

The subsidized Government cement is not being  smuggled as is made out in  some quarters, but the private cement manufacturing companies are not supplying adequate cement stock to the Government initiative said SP Velumani , Minister of Municipality and Urban development.

SP Velumani who was at the city airport to receive Chief minister Edapadi K Palanismay, who  later left for Salem, while briefing the media said that the present Government has implemented scores of people welfare schemes in the first 100 days of office.  “The Government is ferrying 6700 water tankers  to quench the thirst of city denizens in summer months in Chennai” the minister said

While replying to a question as to the opposition raised by principal opposition parties to unveil the portraiture of former Chief Minister Jayalalitha, SP Velumani said that his party also knew the criminal background of those who are raising the issue. The portrait of Jayalalitha would be unveiled in the assembly soon, he said.
