Class 4 girl dies of food poisoning, three others hospitalized

Thanjavur: In a tragic incident, a nine-year-old girl studying in Class 4 in Thiruvidaimarudur taluk reportedly died of food poisoning after she had consumed chicken sauce prepared at home on Wednesday night while three other members of her family were hospitalized with the same complaint.

Veni (30), resident of Vallakudi village in Thiruvidaimarudur taluk , her two children Divya (9), Anushuya (10) and  her mother Lakshmi (50) went to bed after having had the chicken sauce prepared at  home on Wednesday night. Then, they unexpectedly developed vomit and nausea.

 Divya died on the way to hospital while the other three were admitted to a private hospital in Aduthurai where their condition is said to be stable.

Divya was studying in Class 4 in a local school.

Thiruvidaimarudur police have registered a case and further investigation is on.
