With the assistance International Agriculture Development Fund, an advisory meeting was convened by the Municipal Administration, Department of Rural Development and Panchayat activities, Tamil Nadu Women's Welfare Institute, Tamil Nadu New Life Planning in order to formulate a Post-Tsunami Livelihood Program.
At the meeting, the Additional Secretary of Rural Development and Panchayat department, Suganthi; Director of Rural Development, K. Bhaskaran and Managing Director of Tamil Nadu Women Development Institute, Shantha were present at the meeting along with other additional directors. The Director of the project for sustainable livelihood post-Tsunami attended the meeting as well.
The meeting was held at the government secretariat and was spear-headed by S.P.Velumani, Minister of Rural Development and Special Projects.
