The ongoing encroachment drive by the City Corporation has so far retrieved several acres of reserve land at all five zones in the city.
In a recent drive held yesterday, 21st May 2017, the team of officials, under the guidance of Dr. K. Vijayakarthikeyan have retrieved 1.14 acres of land from the West Zone, worth Rs. 9.75 crore.
In Ward No:16, Vadavalli, KK Nagar, close to 6.34 cent of land amounting to Rs. 75 lakhs; Link Road Portions of 40 cents, amounting to RS. 4 Crore and 68 cents of reserve site worth Rs. 5 Crore was riveted by the City Corporation.
'Boards indicating ownership of reserve site with CCMC was installed at all retrieved sites. Soon, these retrieved sites will be transformed into people-friendly parks and nurseries which will breed native saplings', said Dr.K. Vijayakarthikeyan, CCMC Commissioner.
