Six persons from Tripura were arrested after the body of a 24-year-old man from West Bengal, initially found buried in a pit within the Chettipalayam police station limits, was found during investigation to be a case of murder.
Coimbatore: Coimbatore District Police have arrested six persons in connection with the murder of a 24-year-old man from West Bengal whose body was found buried in a pit within the Chettipalayam police station limits on September 8.
The body was initially unidentified, and the Chettipalayam police registered a case of suspicious death and began an investigation.
During the investigation, the deceased was identified as Badal Shit (24), a native of West Bengal. Further inquiries revealed that he had allegedly been murdered and that his body was subsequently concealed.
Based on the investigation, the police identified and secured six persons, all natives of Tripura, in connection with the case. They were identified as Tuithe Reang (22), Sunil Rai Reang (24), Kotho Ram Reang (30), Sumit Kumar (20), Sramit Trang (35), and Santhosh Kumar (20).
Police said the remand procedure was under way and further investigation was in progress.
