A six-member team from the Department of IT at Tamilnadu College of Engineering, Coimbatore, excelled at an employability-focused hackathon, winning a cash prize of ₹4,000 while gaining exposure to communication, creativity, problem-solving, teamwork and technical skills.
Coimbatore: A six-member team of third-year Information Technology students from Tamilnadu College of Engineering (TCE), Coimbatore, has excelled at an employability-focused hackathon that brought together innovation, collaboration and problem-solving.
The students participated in the hackathon, titled “Innovate • Collaborate • Impact”, organised at Tamilnadu College of Engineering in association with TNSkills and SM Groups. The event, focused on strengthening foundation skills for employability, challenged participants to analyse problem statements, develop innovative solutions and present their ideas before a panel of judges, while putting their communication, creativity, problem-solving, teamwork and technical skills to the test.
The winning team from the Department of Information Technology comprised Dhana Lakshmi M, Harish Bharathi M, Ghana N, Raj Gowtham A, Selva Devi R and Yakshini M. The students worked collaboratively to analyse the assigned challenge, develop a solution and present their ideas, demonstrating technical knowledge, creative thinking and teamwork.
The team was awarded a cash prize of ₹4,000, which was presented by the Principal, Dr. N. S. Sakthivel Murugan.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Anusha Ravi, CEO of Park Group of Institutions, said the achievement went beyond the prize money, reflecting the students’ problem-solving mindset and resilience while underscoring their ability to think critically, collaborate effectively and turn ideas into practical solutions.
