Thanks to rainfall in the dam's catchment areas, the current water level stands at 67.4 feet. The dam is receiving an inflow of 391 cubic feet per second, while 250 cubic feet per second is being released for irrigation purposes.
The Parambikulam dam near Pollachi has a storage capacity of 72 feet. Due to persistent southwest monsoon rains in its catchment areas, the water level has risen to 48.4 feet as of September 7. Notably, the dam is receiving a substantial inflow of 1,027 cubic feet per second, while 31 cubic feet per second is being discharged for various purposes.
The Sholayar dam in Valparai is the largest among the three with a capacity of 160 feet. The current water level in the dam stands at 93.87 feet due to consistent rainfall in the catchment areas. The dam is receiving an inflow of 674 cubic feet per second. Officials from the Water Resources Department stated that 1,381 cubic feet per second is being released from the reservoir to manage the water levels effectively.
