The repair and renovation of 32 Primary Health Centres (PHCs) have been taken up under the National Urban Health Mission. While four new buildings are being constructed for 4 PHCs, five more PHCs would be renovated under the scheme for the 9 PHCs which has been added to the scheme recently said CCMC Commissioner K. Vijayakarthikeyan.

Presiding over a review meeting convened at the City Corporation he said that nine more PHCs has been added National Urban Health Mission, which in turn make the total number of PHCS go up to 32 in the corporation limits.
While advising the contractors and officials to seek advice from the doctors while carrying out repairs, the Commissioner said that weekly report on the progression of work should reach the Corporation by the Engineers and Health officials concerned.
One PHC each for every 5 PHCs would be upgraded under this scheme, the commissioner said and added that a fund allocation of Rs.15 lakhs has been allocated for this purpose.
