Public Grievance Redressal Meeting at Coimbatore Corporation: 49 Petitions Received

A public grievance redressal meeting was held at Coimbatore Corporation headquarters under Mayor K. Ranganayaki Ramachandran's leadership on September 1, 2026. The meeting received 49 petitions covering various issues including water supply, roads, street lights, and taxes, with immediate action instructed on all complaints.


Coimbatore: A public grievance redressal meeting was held at the Coimbatore Corporation headquarters on September 1, 2026, under the chairmanship of Mayor K. Ranganayaki Ramachandran. During the session, 49 petition requests were received from the public, and the Mayor instructed the concerned officials to provide immediate solutions to complaints related to various departments.




The meeting witnessed petitions from the public addressing diverse issues including birth and death certificates, road infrastructure improvement, street light maintenance, drinking water facilities, underground drainage problems, professional tax and property tax related issues, new water connection provisions, name changes, and removal of encroached lands. Mayor Ranganayaki Ramachandran personally received these petitions and directed the respective department officials to take immediate action on them.


Deputy Mayor R. Vetriselvan, Deputy Commissioner T. Kumaresan, Town Planning Officer Thamodharan, Administration Assistant Commissioner Prakash, Revenue and South General Assistant Commissioner Maheshkanagaraj, East Zone Assistant Commissioner Dakshinamurthy, West Zone Assistant Commissioner Narmadha, North Zone Assistant Commissioner Mohanasundari, and Central Zone Assistant Commissioner Ganesan participated in the meeting.


Additionally, Executive Engineers, Assistant Executive Engineers, Zonal Health Officers, Engineers, Health Inspectors, and officials from all departments of the Corporation attended the meeting. The Corporation administration has been conducting monthly public grievance redressal meetings to provide swift solutions to public issues.


The Mayor assured that all requests mentioned in the petitions would be examined on a priority basis and action would be taken to resolve them within a specified timeframe. These meetings serve as an opportunity for the public to directly approach the Corporation office and present their grievances.
