22 Year old brain dead business analyst gives a new lease of life to 6 people


Mr.Navaneeth, 22 years old, lived at Medatil house, Chunangad post, Ottapallam, Palakkad, Kerala. He was working as a business analyst at Bangalore. On the fateful day 15/05/2017 at around 11.30 in the morning, he met with an accident near Dharmapuri. While he was returning home from work in two-wheeler, he was hit by another bike and had a head on collision. He was immediately taken to KMCH for emergency care and specialised treatment.

During his hospitalisation, he underwent medical treatment, but did not respond and was declared brain dead on 16 May 2017. While his family was still in shock and deep mourning, his father Mr.Sankaranarayana took a quick call generously donated his son's organs. In the presence of his family members and relatives, a team of Doctors from KMCH immediately went into action and completed the statutory requirement for harvesting the organs.

Yesterday morning a team of doctors harvested the heart, liver, kidneys and eyes from Mr.Navaneeth. The l. liver & both kidneys were transplanted at KMCH, the heart was sent to a private hospital at Chennai and the eyes were donated to Aravind hospital, Coimbatore. The family members felt proud that his organs gave a new lease of life to 6 needy people.

In honour of their gesture, Dr.Nalla G Palaniswami, Chairman, KMCH, thanked the family for their bold and timely decision. He also expressed that this act of generosity will bring more awareness towards the noble cause of organ donation.
