Milad-un-Nabi: 2,000 Kg of Ghee Rice Prepared in Coimbatore; Meal Distribution Reaches Over 20,000 People

On the occasion of Milad-un-Nabi today, the Sunnath Jamaath organised a meal distribution programme for the 11th consecutive year in Coimbatore’s Ukkadam G.M. Nagar area. Around 2,000 kg of rice was used to prepare ghee rice, which is being served to more than 20,000 people.

Coimbatore: Remembering the birth of Prophet Muhammad, regarded as the final prophet in Islam, Muslims observe Milad-un-Nabi by organising various charitable activities to highlight his teachings, values and spirit of generosity.

As part of the observances, Muslim organisations in several parts of Coimbatore organised Tabarruk, involving the preparation and distribution of food to the public.

As part of this initiative, the Sunnath Jamaath has prepared around 2,000 kg of ghee rice at Ukkadam’s G.M. Nagar area, with the meal being distributed to more than 20,000 people.

Separate queues have been arranged for men and women to facilitate the meal distribution. The programme began in the morning, with large numbers of people from the locality as well as surrounding areas arriving to receive the meal.

The Sunnath Jamaath has been organising the ghee rice meal distribution during Milad-un-Nabi for the past 10 years. This year marks the 11th consecutive year of the initiative.
