The Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption (DVAC) carried out a surprise raid at the Coimbatore North Tahsildar Office on Friday evening. Official details regarding the operation, including whether any cash or documents were seized, are yet to be disclosed.

Coimbatore: Officials of the Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption (DVAC), led by an Additional Superintendent of Police (ADSP), carried out a surprise inspection at the Coimbatore North Tahsildar Office on Friday evening.

The inspection commenced at around 5 p.m., with vigilance officials conducting extensive checks across the office premises.

As part of the operation, officials inspected two-wheelers and four-wheelers parked within the premises, belonging to both government employees and members of the public, to verify whether they contained unaccounted cash, important documents or any other suspicious materials.

Sources said the vigilance officials were also questioning certain officials attached to the Tahsildar Office as part of the ongoing inquiry.

Owing to the inspection, the main entrance to the Coimbatore North Tahsildar Office was temporarily closed, and restrictions were imposed on the movement of the public into and out of the premises.

Vehicles parked inside the office campus were permitted to leave only after undergoing a thorough inspection by the vigilance officials.

Official details regarding the raid, including whether any cash, documents, or other incriminating materials were seized, are yet to be disclosed by the Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption (DVAC).
