Accidents Across Coimbatore: Two-Wheeler Riders, Cyclist Injured

Three persons sustained serious injuries in separate road accidents involving a scooter, motorcycle and bicycle in different parts of Coimbatore. Police have registered separate cases and advised motorists, particularly two-wheeler riders, to strictly adhere to traffic rules and wear helmets to help prevent serious injuries in accidents.


Coimbatore: Three persons sustained serious injuries in separate road accidents reported under the jurisdiction of the Coimbatore City Traffic Investigation Wing (West), police said.

Sudha (45), a resident of Somayampalayam in Vadavalli, was riding her lscooter on Maruthamalai Main Road on the night of July 12 when an unidentified four-wheeler allegedly rammed into her vehicle. She suffered a fracture to her left leg and is undergoing treatment.

In another incident, Vijay (34), a resident of Kovaipudur, sustained a fracture to his left leg after the bike he was riding on Thondamuthur Road was hit by a car allegedly driven by Surya (20).

In the third accident, Deepanjali Das (27), a native of Haryana, was cycling on Mettupalayam Road when an unidentified bus allegedly struck the bicycle, causing severe head injuries. The injured cyclist has been admitted to Coimbatore Medical College Hospital for treatment.

Police have registered separate cases in connection with the accidents and are investigating the circumstances leading to each incident.
