Earlier, there were 37 buses travelling from Valparai, however, ever since the strike only 32 buses have been commuting. The residents are concerned about their safety as the Pollachi Aliyar- Valparai road is extremely dangerous, on a hilly terrain and consists of a large number of hairpin bends, however, temporary drivers are hired to traverse through such roads since the strike.
