According to the District Disaster Management rainfall report for the 24-hour period ending at 7.30 a.m. on Friday, Sholayar recorded the highest rainfall at 46 mm, followed by Chinnakallar (42 mm), Valparai PAP (32 mm), Cinchona (32 mm) and Valparai Taluk (30 mm). The hill region has been witnessing consistent rainfall over the past few days, with precipitation steadily increasing across most observation stations.
Among Coimbatore's key drinking water sources, the Pilloor catchment received a welcome spell of rainfall, with Pilloor Dam recording 16 mm and Mettupalayam receiving 17 mm.
