Babu (50), a security at Murukkali estate near Vallparai, had gone for work yesterday night. He did not return in the morning. A doctor who resides in this area heard noises of an elephant and tried reaching Babu, however his cell phone was unreachable. Concerned, the doctor along with other residents, went in look out for Babu this morning and shockingly, found his body at a trench beside the doctor's house.

On police investigations being conducted, it was found, that Babu died due to the attack of the wild elephant who stabbed him using its tusks.
His body has been taken to the Valparrai Government Hospital for postmortem by police inspector Subramani. A case has been filed and further investigations will be conducted.

The residents of the area also urge the estate caretakers and government officials to take some sort of action as wild animals pose a huge threat to the locals of the regions.
