Solayar Dam in Valparai recorded a water level of 24.65 feet today against its total capacity of 160 feet. The Water Resources Department reported an inflow of 138 cusecs and a controlled outflow of 5 cusecs from the dam.

Coimbatore: The Water Resources Department officials have released details about the current water level status of Solayar Dam in Valparai. The dam, which has a total storage capacity of 160 feet, currently stands at 24.65 feet as of today.

Due to rainfall in the catchment areas of the dam, good inflow has been recorded today (May 26). Water Resources Department officials stated that the inflow has been recorded at 138 cubic feet per second (cusecs).

Considering the inflow, a controlled release of 5 cusecs is being discharged from the dam. Solayar Dam serves as one of the important water resources for the Valparai region.

During monsoon seasons, rainwater from the hill areas is stored in this dam. The current inflow is expected to help increase the dam's water level ahead of the regular monsoon season.
