As per the orders passed by the Tamil Nadu Government, several IPS Officers have been shuffled to new locations and departments. Here in the City, Deputy Commissioner of Traffic, S. Saravanan has been transferred as Deputy Commissioner of Police, Head quarters, Greater Chennai.
M. Durai, IPS has been deputed as the new DC (Traffic) for Coimbatore City.
It is to be noted that during his period, DC, S. Saravanan, implemented many commendable campaigns and awareness programmes which aimed at instilling safe driving habits amongst the citizens of Coimbatore. All his initiatives were termed to be 'people-friendly' due to the vast participation of public, students and NGOs in all his initiatives.
'Life is irreplaceable and the most precious thing ever, hence lets's drive safe and live safe', was one of the statement he emphasized at all the events he took part. His recent initiative of appreciating citizens who adhere to traffic rules and safety measures was much-appreciated by the people. And, importantly DC Saravanan personally interacts with the motorists to educate them on adhering to traffic rules at all times.
Undoubtedly, this City will miss this enterprising IPS Officer.
