Assembly Elections: Constituency-wise Voter Turnout Details in Coimbatore District

Coimbatore district recorded 84.67 percent voter turnout in Tamil Nadu Assembly elections. The Election Commission released detailed constituency-wise voting statistics. Sulur constituency reported highest turnout at 88.31 percent while Coimbatore North recorded lowest at 75.67 percent.


Coimbatore: The Tamil Nadu Assembly elections witnessed an impressive 84.67percent voter turnout in Coimbatore district, with the Election Commission releasing detailed constituency-wise statistics showing the number of voters who exercised their franchise in each assembly segment.

Voting commenced at 7 AM yesterday and continued briskly until 6 PM across the district. Enthusiastic citizens arrived at polling booths as early as 6 AM, standing in orderly queues to fulfill their democratic duty. The overall participation demonstrated strong civic engagement across all constituencies in the district.


The constituency-wise voter turnout details reveal varied participation rates across different assembly segments. Out of a total of 27,44,472 registered voters in Coimbatore district, 23,26,489 citizens cast their votes, resulting in the overall turnout of 84.67percent.


In the first constituency, 2,82,179 voters were registered, of which 2,42,476 exercised their franchise, recording an impressive turnout of 85.93percent. The Sulur assembly constituency emerged as the district leader with the highest voter participation, where 2,71,656 out of 3,76,616 registered voters cast their ballots, achieving a remarkable 88.31 percent turnout.


Another constituency with 4,22,138 registered voters saw 3,61,223 people voting, translating to 85.57 percent participation. Meanwhile, Coimbatore North constituency recorded the lowest turnout in the district at 75.67 percent, with 2,24,694 voters out of 2,96,939 registered voters exercising their right to vote.


A constituency with 2,93,324 registered voters witnessed 2,56,776 people casting their votes, recording 87.54 percent turnout. Another segment had 1,88,878 registered voters, with 1,55,163 participating, resulting in 82.15 percent voter turnout.


In the constituency with 2,69,941 registered voters, 2,19,165 citizens voted, achieving 81.19 percent participation. Another assembly segment recorded 87.11 percent turnout, with 2,66,450 voters out of 3,05,878 registered voters casting their ballots.


A constituency comprising 2,03,971 registered voters saw strong participation with 1,79,678 people voting, recording 88.09 percent turnout. Similarly, another segment with 1,73,608 registered voters witnessed 1,49,147 citizens exercising their franchise, achieving 85.91 percent voter participation.


The constituency-wise analysis clearly indicates that Sulur assembly constituency topped the district with the maximum voter turnout of 88.31 percent, while Coimbatore North constituency recorded the minimum participation at 75.67 percent. These statistics reflect the diverse levels of electoral engagement across different parts of the district during this crucial democratic exercise.
