Tribals living in tribal hamlets of Annamalai Wild Life Sanctuary has complained against a revenue official who had allegedly ill-treated them. The tribals have also petitioned District Collector TN Hariharan seeking departmental action against the erring official.
Alleging that Sakthivel Tahsildar ( Scheduled Castes and Tribes) in Pollachi, had abused them when they went to meet him, the tribals also alleged that the authorities have not informed about the public hearing which was held to seek the opinion of tribals to enact Forest Rights Act in Tamilnadu.
There were about 17 tribal villages in Anamalai hills but only a few villages were informed of the public hearing and others were left out they said.
