The services of Nilgiri Mountain Railway (NMR) which have been suspended temporarily following landslides witnessed in the tracks in the Mettupalayam - Ooty section would be resumed once the debris is cleared from the tracks said Southern Railway Authorities.
As Nilgiris district has experienced widespread heavy rainfall in the last few days trees have been uprooted in many places near the tracks. The clearing of debris and trees, which have fallen on the tracks have been undertaken by the Southern Railway authorities on a war footing.
The domestic and foreign tourists who have booked the ride in the toy train stood disappointed as the services stood suspended for the consecutive fifth day today.
