Two day seminar on “Great Heritage of Pallavas, Pandyas, Chalukyas and Rastrkutas"


Rotary Club of Coimbatore Metropolis in association with SeekSia is organizing a two-day seminar on “Great Heritage of Pallavas, Pandyas, Chalukyas and Rastrkutas” at SNR college here. The seminar would be held on May 12 and 13.

Briefing the media about the forthcoming seminar S.Gurumurthy Past President of Rotary Club of Coimbatore Metropolis said that "Rotary Club of Coimbatore Metropolis is committed to propagate the culture and heritage of this nation and reach out the younger generation. The study of History is vital to know our past culture and heritage. A renewed interest should be inculcated in students for them to develop an interest in the subject. We should take pride in our History and Heritage, which is one of the ancient cultures in the world. Sadly, most of the Indians have no interest in the subject.



The current seminar would cover the heritage of Pallavas, Pandyas, Chalukyas, and Rastrkutas. As many as 13 eminent historians and speakers would address the seminar. 

“Easily these are the four dynasties, which have built so many beautiful temples like  Badami Rocket Cave Temple, Ellora Caves. This lecture series will cover all these topics and help bring about awareness among today’s generation." Gurumurthi said.

Swathi Rohit,  Founder of SeekSia said "SeekSia aims at creating awareness about the culture and heritage in an exciting format.We aim at making the youngsters understand, appreciate and preserve our culture and heritage. This heritage seminar will be a catalyst for that."

The seminar is being held May 12 and  13th at SNR College Auditorium from 9.00 am to 5.00 om. While an entry fee of Rs.300 ( including lunch) is collected for participants , no entry fees is charged for school and college students ( they must carry id cards)
