Grand Sharathkala Navarathiri Mahotsavam Procession at Sri Annapoorani, Sri Yoga Narasimhar Temple in Coimbatore

The Sri Annapoorani, Sri Yoga Narasimhar Temple in Coimbatore held a grand Sharathkala Navarathiri Mahotsavam procession, featuring special pujas and cultural performances from various states, drawing large crowds of devotees and spectators.


Coimbatore: The Sri Annapoorani, Sri Yoga Narasimhar Temple on Tiruvengadasamy Road in R.S. Puram, Coimbatore, celebrated the Sharathkala Navarathiri Mahotsavam with a grand procession that captivated devotees and onlookers alike.



The event began with special pujas at the temple, where the deities were adorned in spectacular decorations, blessing the gathered devotees. Following the rituals, the procession commenced, featuring a diverse array of cultural performances.



Artists from Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka, and Mumbai participated in the procession, showcasing various art forms.



The spectacle included performances of kombu, naiyandi melam, chendai melam, kavadi attam, theyyam, kali attam, and thiraiattam, adding vibrant color and energy to the streets.



The procession started from the temple and wound its way through major roads including Tiruvengadasamy Road, Thadagam Road, and Periyasamy Road before returning to the temple. Throughout the route, large crowds gathered to witness the event and seek blessings from the deities.



Many spectators were particularly impressed by the performers in various costumes who danced throughout the procession. The police were deployed along the route to ensure the safety and smooth conduct of the event.
