Social media forums have exposed this devil-may-care attitude of bus drivers who throw caution to the winds and drive away their vehicle at a break-neck speed. Following this, the commuters have made a fervent appeal to authorities concerned to check this dangerous practice, which might lead to accidents and loss of life.
“The private bus operators are notorious for over-speeding and over-loading; they also indulge in parking violations in Coimbatore-Sathy Road. The authorities should check this growing menace which is posing a threat to the life of passengers and road users including pedestrians.” said an aggrieved passenger, commuting daily in this section.
It may be recalled that when similar complaints of overspending were made against the bus operations in Coimbatore-Pollachi route, the Sub-Collector, Pollachi had ordered the seizure of buses which violate norms.
