Tobacco Free Youth Campaign 2.0 Rally Unites Coimbatore Students

The CSW Foundation and District Tobacco Control Cell organized a Tobacco Free Youth Campaign 2.0 Rally in Coimbatore on October 5, 2024. Students from local colleges participated, promoting awareness about tobacco dangers.


Coimbatore: The CSW Foundation, in collaboration with the District Tobacco Control Cell, successfully organized the Tobacco Free Youth Campaign 2.0 Rally in Coimbatore on October 5, 2024. The event, which aimed to raise awareness about the dangers of tobacco use, saw significant participation from local students.

The rally commenced at the Race Course Police Station and concluded at the District Health Office, drawing attention to the importance of tobacco-free lifestyles among youth. Sub Inspector of Police Elumalai hosted the event, lending official support to the campaign.



Key participants in the rally included District Tobacco Control Cell Social Worker Murali Krishnan and psychologists Thoufiq. Representatives from the CSW Foundation were also present, including Trustee and Secretary Harish Kumar, Joint Secretary Fazil Rahman, Program Coordinator Lekha, and Program Mobilizer Jayshree.



Students from PSG College of Arts and Science and Kumaraguru College actively participated in the rally, demonstrating their commitment to the cause. Their involvement highlighted the growing awareness and concern among young people regarding the harmful effects of tobacco use.



The Tobacco Free Youth Campaign 2.0 Rally served as a platform to empower young individuals to advocate for healthier choices in their communities. By engaging students and local officials, the event aimed to create a lasting impact on tobacco prevention efforts in Coimbatore.



This initiative reflects a collaborative effort between educational institutions, law enforcement, and health organizations to combat tobacco use among youth. The success of the rally underscores the community's dedication to fostering a healthier environment for future generations.
