Winners of anti-drug awareness marathon at Arasur Government School receive prizes

On Gandhi Jayanti, Coimbatore South District Secretary Thalapathi Murugesan awarded prizes to winners of the anti-drug awareness marathon at Arasur Government Higher Secondary School.


Coimbatore: In commemoration of Gandhi Jayanti, an anti-tobacco and drug awareness marathon 3.0 was held at the Arasur Government Higher Secondary School in Sulur North Union, Coimbatore South District on October 2.



Coimbatore South District Secretary Thalapathi Murugesan presided over the event, distributing prizes and certificates to the successful participants of the marathon.

The event was significant for its focus on raising awareness about the dangers of tobacco and drug use among students. The marathon served as a platform to engage young people in a healthy activity while simultaneously educating them about the harmful effects of substance abuse.



Adding to the importance of the occasion, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Karumathampatti Range) Thangaraman attended the event. He delivered a special address on the prevention of tobacco and drug use, emphasizing the role of youth in combating substance abuse in society.

The marathon and subsequent award ceremony underscored the commitment of local authorities and educational institutions in promoting a drug-free environment for students. By combining physical activity with awareness programs, the event aimed to instill positive values and health consciousness among the participating youth.
