Tourism minister Vellamandi Natarajan inaugurated the 9th vegetable show at Kothagiri which commenced today. The two-day festival which is organized by the Tamilnadu Horticultural department is a crowd puller.
An exhibit designed as a ship , using 1500 kg of capsicum has attracted the tourists and visitors to the hill town. A 10 feet tower using turmeric was another eye-catching exhibit. Exhibits ranging from deer, peacock, rabbit, all designed by using vegetables enthralled the visitors.

About 25,000 tourists and visitors are expected to visit and enjoy the panorama made out of vegetables in the show. Cultural shows were also organized as part of the vegetable show and summer festival.
Prizes would be distributed to the best exhibits at the end of the show. Horticultural departments of various districts in Tamilnadu are participating and exhibiting their skills in the two-day show.
