District Collector Pays Tribute to Mahatma Gandhi Statue at Khadi Outlet on Gandhi Jayanti

Coimbatore District Collector Kranthi Kumar Pati paid homage to Mahatma Gandhi's statue at the Khadi outlet in Uppilipalayam on October 2nd, marking Gandhi Jayanti. The event also saw the launch of Diwali sales with special discounts on Khadi products.



Coimbatore: On the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti, Coimbatore District Collector Kranthi Kumar Pati paid tribute to Mahatma Gandhi by garlanding his statue at the Khadi outlet in Uppilipalayam area. The event, held on October 2nd, commemorates the birth anniversary of the Father of the Nation, celebrated nationwide to honor his contributions to India's freedom struggle and progress.

Additional Collector (Development) Sweta Suman and Assistant Director of Khadi Village Industries Rajeswari also participated in the event, paying their respects to Mahatma Gandhi's statue.



Following the tribute, District Collector Kranthi Kumar Pati inaugurated the Diwali sales at the Khadi outlet and made the first purchase.



In celebration of Gandhi Jayanti and the upcoming Diwali festival, the Khadi outlet has announced special discounts on various products. Customers can avail 30% discount on Khadi varieties, 30% on silk varieties, 30% on polyester varieties, and 20% on woolen varieties.

The State Government and the Khadi Village Industries Commission have introduced these discount offers to support rural poor women's development and encourage small-scale industry experts. The public is urged to take advantage of these discounts and purchase Khadi products in large quantities, thereby supporting the initiative aimed at empowering rural communities and promoting indigenous industries.
