Four arrested in Coimbatore for ganja peddling, including an electrician

Vadavalli police arrested four individuals, including an electrician, for selling ganja in Coimbatore. The arrests were made during a routine patrol, with 200 grams of ganja seized from the suspects.


Coimbatore: The Vadavalli police in Coimbatore apprehended four individuals, including an electrician, for selling ganja during a routine patrol on Saturday (Sept. 30). The arrests were made in two separate incidents, resulting in the seizure of 200 grams of ganja.

In the first incident, police officers on patrol noticed a suspicious youth near the Marudhamalai foothills bus stop. Upon questioning, it was revealed that the individual was involved in selling ganja. The suspect was identified as Manikandan (24), an electrician from Vivekanandar Street in Kalveerampalayam. Police arrested him and confiscated 100 grams of ganja from his possession.

In a separate operation, Vadavalli police intercepted three suspicious individuals on Linganoor Road. During interrogation, the trio provided inconsistent answers, raising further suspicion. A subsequent search revealed that they were concealing ganja for sale. The arrested individuals were identified as Sabarigiri (27) from Thendral Nagar in Vadavalli, Mohammed Ismail (24) from Thondamuthur, and Gokul (27) from Kalidass Nagar in Vadavalli. Police seized 100 grams of ganja from them.

All four suspects have been taken into custody, and further investigations are underway to determine the source of the contraband and identify any potential wider network involved in ganja distribution in the area.
