GEM Hospital Coimbatore Indian society for diseases of the Esophagus and Stomach is holding its first international conference from 11th to 13th May 2017 at Le Meridian hotel. Due to the changes in lifestyle and dietary patterns, diseases affecting he stomach and esophagus such as heartburns and cancer are rapidly increasing. These diseases need extremely advanced technology in order to be treated. India is still lagging behind in such advanced technology as well as doctors or surgeons who specialize in diseases of the stomach and Esophagus. Hence, the society was inaugurated 2 year ago at the Tata Memorial Hospital. GEM hospital’s doctor Palanivelu and thoracic surgeon, Dr Paramesh, were elected as founder president and secretary respectively.
This is the 1st international conference under the auspices of ISES. Apart from key note speakers, debates on various issues during operations will be held. Robotic esophagactonomy and gastrectonomy, which was recently developed in the surgical domain, will be shown live. All operations will be shown in 4K and 3D.
GEM Hospital Coimbatore is conducting free consultation camp for gastrointestinal problems, hernia and cancer. Selected patients will be provided a concession of over 50%. Underprivileged people are to be provided treatment free of cost at GEM hospital. 150 robotic cancer surgeries are also scheduled to be conducted free of robotic charge in 2017.
