The Indian Subsidiary of Husqvarna has been set up to cater the Indian Sub Continent. Based in Chennai the Indian entity will be involved in sales and marketing of innovative outdoor power equipment for forestry, landscaping and light agriculture said Pavel Hajman President of Husqvarna division.

While addressing the media Pavel Hajman President of Husqvarna division said that"Husqvarna division has been dealing with agriculture, garden, forestry products and it has been a global leader in this segment.
The wide range of products include Chainsaws, Brush cutters, Tillers, Hedge Trimmers, accessories.It operates globally with the majority of sales generated in Europe and North America.With the launch of its outdoor products in India, the Indian entity will cater Sri Lanka, Bhutan, Nepal.

The overall global market share is around 20 percent and we are expecting good revenue from Indian market as it has good potential. During the first year of launch, we are aiming similar 20 % market revenue and planning to expand our footprint.
Though Indian Economy is fast growing economy but it will take little longer to be placed in the top five markets globally. At present, the US, Germany, and France are major contributors in the global market.With the time frame of 3-5 years, India may reach that position."

Rajesh Raghavan Managing Director and Country Head Husqvarna division shared "The major focus for the Indian Market will be on light agricultural equipment and forestry products.The market for light agricultural products is growing in India and this sector has got a lot of subsidy programs.At present the horticulture products have subsidies and the light agriculture equipment too will be covered under subsidies in a time frame of another one year. As of now the division outsources components from global level and will be looking for opportunities to start a manufacturing unit in India in near future."
The division will reach its end customer mainly through dealer channel and has dealer footprints of about 60 dealers currently in India.
