DYFI cadres arrested for protesting against NEET

Over 50 cadres of Democratic Youth Federation of India were arrested today when they staged a dharna in front of BSNL office here today demanding for the withdrawal of   National Eligibility and Entrance Test ( NEET) for medical admission.

The cadres and students who protested against the introduction of  NEET  said that the national medical admission test would pave way for the robbing the educational opportunities of the eligible candidates hailing from rural areas. Moreover, the introduction of NEET on Pan – India basis would also amount to interfering in the federal rights of states.

"The coaching facilities are not available in rural pockets of the nation and the city students would get an advantage over their rural counterparts when they appear for NEET" the cadres alleged
