AIADMK lawyers in Coimbatore filed a complaint with the City Police Commissioner against posters labeling Thondamuthur MLA S.P. Velumani as a 'terrorist'. The incident occurred in Kuniyamuthur area, causing public unrest.

Coimbatore: AIADMK lawyers have lodged a complaint with the Coimbatore City Police Commissioner against posters that label Thondamuthur MLA S.P. Velumani as a 'terrorist'. The posters, which appeared in the Kuniyamuthur area, have been deemed a threat to public peace by the AIADMK legal team.

The lawyers have demanded immediate action against the "anti-social elements" responsible for this act. Damodaran, the district secretary of the AIADMK lawyers' wing, stated that various groups have been protesting against these posters in different locations within the Kuniyamuthur police station limits.

Damodaran also mentioned that similar notices were posted in the Coimbatore Pudur area in January, for which a CSR was filed at the Kuniyamuthur police station. He expressed concern that such actions are being repeated, potentially inciting unrest, and called for strict action against those involved.

The AIADMK legal team warned that if such activities continue, they are prepared to file a case in the High Court and organize various protests. The City Police Commissioner has reportedly assured immediate action on the complaint.

This incident highlights the ongoing political tensions in the region and the potential for such actions to disrupt public order. The AIADMK's swift response underscores the seriousness with which they view these allegations against their party member.
