Coimbatore: In a tragic incident, a furniture shop worker in Coimbatore's Sanganoor area committed suicide by jumping into a 200-foot deep well. The search for his body has entered its third day as firefighters continue their efforts to recover the remains.

Vijay, also known as Vijayaraghavan, was a resident of Sanganoor and worked as a laborer in a local furniture shop. He was unmarried and had been struggling with health issues resulting from an accident that occurred several years ago. Additionally, he appeared to be distressed due to family problems.

On the evening of two days ago, Vijay was talking with his friends when he excused himself, saying he would return shortly. He then went to a nearby 200-foot deep well owned by a person named Shanmugam and jumped in, taking his own life. The incident was immediately reported to the kavundampalayam Fire Department and the police.

Firefighters who arrived at the scene began searching for Vijay's body in the well. Despite their efforts, they have been unable to locate the body. The search operation has now entered its third day on September 13, with fire department personnel intensifying their efforts to find Vijay's remains.

The incident has shocked the local community, highlighting the need for better mental health awareness and support systems. Authorities are investigating the circumstances that led to this tragic event, while the family and friends of Vijayaraghavan await closure.
