Passenger Collapses and Dies at Mettupalayam Bus Stand

A passenger from Kotagiri, Nilgiris district, suddenly collapsed and died at Mettupalayam bus stand in Coimbatore district on May 12. The incident occurred around noon, shocking fellow travelers.


Coimbatore: A tragic incident occurred at the Mettupalayam bus stand in Coimbatore district when a passenger suddenly collapsed and died on Friday, May 12. The deceased, identified as Muthu from Kotagiri in the Nilgiris district, had arrived at the bus stand after a journey.

Mettupalayam bus stand, which sees hundreds of passengers daily, became the scene of an unexpected tragedy. Muthu, who had traveled from Kotagiri, was waiting at the bus stand when he suddenly fainted and collapsed. Bystanders immediately alerted the Anbu Ambulance service.

The ambulance crew rushed to the scene and transported Muthu to the Mettupalayam Government Hospital for emergency treatment. However, upon examination, the doctors declared that he had already passed away.

The Mettupalayam police have registered a case and are conducting an investigation into the incident. They provided this information to the public at noon on May 12.

The sudden death of a passenger at a busy public place like the bus stand has raised concerns among the local community. Authorities are expected to look into any potential health issues or other factors that might have contributed to this unfortunate incident.
