For the consecutive 13th day, the doctors of Coimbatore Medical College Hospital (CMCH) and Primary Health Centres are staging continuous protests against the order passed by the Madras High Court revoking the 50% service quota reservation for PG courses. The Government doctors from all parts of Tamil Nadu are conducting similar protests against the Madras HC's Order.

Since two weeks, the service doctors at CMCH are staging various protests including road rokos demanding to restore the 50% reservation.
Today, close to 300 doctors from CMCH took part in the hunger strike protest and raised slogans to restore the reservation with immediate effect and also highlighted the impact on cancellation of service-quota reservation. They urged that doctors from primary health centres and those who come from rural areas will lose the opportunity of pursuing their PG courses due to this sudden change in reservation policy.
The protesting doctors also apprised that they would intensify their protests until the issue is addressed.
