Governor Confers Degrees at 44th Convocation of Tamil Nadu Agricultural University in Coimbatore

The 44th Convocation of Tamil Nadu Agricultural University was held on September 8, where Governor R.N. Ravi conferred degrees to 9,526 students across various disciplines. The event was marked by notable absences and distinguished guests.



Coimbatore: The 44th Convocation ceremony of Tamil Nadu Agricultural University (TNAU) in Coimbatore took place on September 8, with Governor R.N. Ravi, who is also the Chancellor of the university, presiding over the event. Dr. Geetha Lakshmi, Vice-Chancellor of TNAU, extended a warm welcome to the attendees.

Tilak Chandra Mohapatra, Chairperson of the Protection of Plant Varieties and Farmers' Rights Authority, participated as the chief guest and delivered a special address at the ceremony.



Governor R.N. Ravi conferred degrees to the graduating students following the chief guest's speech. A total of 9,526 students received their degrees across various programs, including undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral studies. Among them, 3,415 students received their degrees in person, while 6,111 students from affiliated colleges received their degrees by post.

The convocation saw the participation of numerous students and faculty members. Notably, M.R.K. Panneerselvam, who holds the dual positions of Pro-Chancellor and Minister for Agriculture, was announced to attend but was conspicuously absent from the event.



The ceremony marked a significant milestone for the graduates, celebrating their academic achievements and preparing them for their future endeavors in the field of agriculture and related sciences.
