Two men arrested for smuggling demonetised currency worth 5 Lakhs


Recently, while the police were conducting searches in vehicles at Sai Baba Colony, 2 men were arrested for allegedly smuggling of currency worth 50 Lakhs in the old 500 denomination. Elangovan, is located in Bangalore and Diwakaran, who hails from Kerala, are the men involved in this crime.

On being questioned, they said that they received the amount after selling their house. They also claimed to be returning to Bangalore after a visit to the Guruvayur temple in Kerala. However, they were arrested as they were found to be carrying a dangerously large amount of the old 500 Rupee notes.
