Update: Two killed, five injured in car-motorcycle collision on Coimbatore-Pollachi highway Near Thamaraikulam

A tragic accident on the Coimbatore-Pollachi National Highway near Thamaraikulam resulted in two fatalities and five injuries when a car collided with multiple motorcycles in the early hours.



Coimbatore: A devastating accident on the Coimbatore-Pollachi National Highway near Thamaraikulam claimed two lives and left five others injured when a car collided with multiple motorcycles in the early hours of the morning.

Balaji, 28, a resident of Deepalapatti near Udumalpet, was returning from Coimbatore airport after dropping off a relative.



As he approached Thamaraikulam on the national highway near Pollachi, his car collided with an oncoming motorcycle on the left side of the road.



The impact caused the car to lose control and roll on the highway, colliding with three more motorcycles coming from the opposite direction.



Palanisamy, 50, from Pattanam area, who was on one of the motorcycles, died on the spot.



Five others who were severely injured were rushed to Pollachi Government Hospital by local residents using an ambulance.

Kumar, a resident of Puthor in Masanayakkanpalayam, who was undergoing treatment at the hospital, succumbed to his injuries later. The car driver and three others are currently receiving medical attention at the hospital.



The Kinathukadavu police are investigating the incident.



The accident caused traffic disruptions on the Pollachi-Coimbatore National Highway for several hours in the early morning.
