Mother throws two children into well, commits suicide near Pollachi - Police recover three bodies

In a tragic incident near Pollachi, a mother threw her two young children into a well before jumping in herself. Police have recovered all three bodies and launched an investigation.


Coimbatore: A heart-wrenching incident has shocked residents near Pollachi as a mother took the extreme step of ending her life along with her two young children.



The tragic event occurred in Thathur area of Anaimalai, where 30-year-old Suganya allegedly threw her 7-year-old daughter Thanusri and 4-year-old son Ahilan into a nearby well before jumping in herself.

The family, consisting of Arunkumar, his wife Suganya, and their two children, had reportedly been experiencing frequent domestic disputes. Sources suggest that these family issues might have driven Suganya to take this drastic step.



Local residents alerted the Anaimalai police upon discovering the incident. The police, along with the fire and rescue services, rushed to the spot. After a challenging operation, they managed to retrieve the bodies of Suganya and her two children from the well.

The bodies have been sent to Pollachi Government Hospital for post-mortem examination. The Anaimalai police have registered a case and are conducting a thorough investigation into the circumstances that led to this tragic incident.

The shocking suicide has cast a pall of gloom over the area, leaving relatives and locals in a state of profound sorrow. As the community grapples with this devastating loss, authorities are working to piece together the events that led to this heartbreaking decision.
