Government School Students Secure First Place in Regional Throwball Competition in Pollachi

Students from Pethanaickanur Government High School clinched first place in the regional throwball competition held in Pollachi, qualifying for the district-level tournament in both under-14 and under-17 categories.

Coimbatore: Students from Pethanaickanur Government High School have made their mark in the regional throwball competition held at the Government School in Kottur near Pollachi. The event, organized by the Mini Sports Center, saw the school's team securing first place in both the under-14 and under-17 categories, qualifying them for the upcoming district-level tournament.

This achievement marks the second consecutive year that the students have qualified for the district-level competition, showcasing their consistent performance and dedication to the sport.

What makes this victory even more remarkable is that the school has been without a dedicated physical education teacher. Despite this challenge, the students' perseverance, combined with the support of alumni and parents, has led to this impressive feat.

Tamil teacher Balamurugan stepped up to provide the necessary training for the students, ensuring they were well-prepared for the competition. The school's headmistress, Umamaheswari, congratulated the victorious team on their outstanding performance.

The success of these young athletes from Pethanaickanur Government High School serves as an inspiration to other government school students, demonstrating that with determination and community support, it's possible to overcome obstacles and achieve excellence in sports.
