Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments Department Plans to Demolish Over 120 Houses in Palladam

Talks at Palladam Tahsildar's office postponed due to absence of HR&CE official. Residents express distress over potential loss of homes on disputed 12-acre land claimed by Angalamman Temple.

Tirupur: The Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments (HR&CE) Department's plan to demolish over 120 houses in Palladam, Tirupur district, has sparked controversy and concern among local residents. The dispute centers around a 12-acre plot on Manikkapuram Road, claimed by the Angalamman Temple.

A trilateral meeting was scheduled at the Palladam Tahsildar's office to discuss the matter between the Revenue Department, HR&CE Department, and the affected residents. However, the talks were postponed due to the absence of the inspector from the HR&CE Department.

The Angalamman Temple committee has been taking various steps to reclaim the land through the HR&CE Department. The residents, who have been living in the area for years, now find their livelihoods threatened by the potential demolition of their homes.

Many of the affected residents expressed their distress over the situation. They pointed out that there is an ongoing case in the civil court regarding the land dispute. Despite this, the HR&CE Department's plans to remove the houses have left them in a state of despair.

The residents, numbering over 120 families, are now facing an uncertain future. They voiced their concerns about losing their homes and the impact it would have on their lives. The postponement of the talks has only added to their anxiety, as they await a resolution to this complex issue.

As the situation unfolds, the residents hope for a fair resolution that takes into account their long-standing occupancy of the land and the potential humanitarian impact of widespread demolitions.
