In an effort to collect the tax arrears, the Corporation has been severing the water connection of the defaulters.
'Starting from 26th October 2016 till date, 1047 water connections have been terminated.
Be it a residence or a commercial establishment, those who pay no heed to clear their pending property tax dues will face to disconnection of basic amenities like water supply and drainage connection. Hence, citizens of all five zones are asked to remit their pending dues immediately to the Corporation tax collection centres' said Dr. K. Vijayakarthikeyan, Corporation Commissioner.

Garbage bins are also placed in front of apartment complexes and commercial establishments for non-payment of property taxes.

- West Zone - 68 connections.
- South Zone - 385 connections.
- North Zone - 148 connections
